First yoga class

Today we took our first yoga class here in Bali! Also Petri’s first class ever. We decided to take a private class, as the prices are favourable and to ‘ease into’ taking group classes as well.

Our teacher took good time to explain about the alignments in many of the basic yoga positions, help us in adjustments and good form. He was very encouraging for us to join more classes during our last classes here.

The resort we’re staying at, Serenity Eco Guesthouse, has a long list of daily yoga classes. For staying guests one drop in class is 100 000 Indonesian rupee, or about 6€ currently. So for the both of is it would be 200 000 IRD/12€. For a private class it is 200 000 IRD per person, when 2-3 persons in the class. So 24€ for about 1 hour private class we saw a a very good rate!

But the most important part was that Petri got a good introduction, and doesn’t feel like running the other direction! I also picked up a few good alignment adjustments.

Only thing stopping us now from taking “all the yoga classes”, is our sore skin on arms, shoulders and backs! The sunburn from yesterday is still making itself reminded every time clothing restricts or someone puts a hand on the shoulder!
