We had quite an eventful day, and therefore this blog is so late published.
But. We had seen aerial yoga on the schedule, and I have to confess that it sounded tempting, even though I have quite limited yoga experience. One girl I spoke with last week said she had tried it and it was a lot of fun. So I thought why not.
And I got Petri with me. And off we went. It was quite nervous, to trust the hammock with the full weight, as well as the handles. After the first time upside down, I was quite happy and wouldn’t have needed any more. But we got many more chances, which was awesome! And it was a really nice way to stretch out the back as well, to feel the gravity lengthen the spine. It also gave some good stretches with other positions as well, for example one foot on the ground and the other in the hammock in different ways.
The teacher was pretty relaxed and had funny names, so when we did the pigeon pose (with the front leg in the hammock) he called “funny pigeon” due to the head sticking out among the hammock in a funny way!
All in all, I would totally recommend you to try it out once, it’s a fun way to experience yoga without necessary being difficult. Biggest thing for me was to trust the hammock, as I usually prefer to have my both feet on the ground.
